VOLLEYBALL

September 13, 2017 Sports

Huntington University senior Kate Cobb earned this week’s Crossroads League Defender of the Week honors as announced earlier this morning.

Last week Cobb averaged 5.2 digs per set to help guide the Foresters to a pair of conference wins. The Elkhart native posted a pair of 20-dig matches including a 22-dig effort in HU’s 3-1 win over Saint Francis.

The 5-5 defensive specialist is one of the best in the business as she currently ranks 11th in the NAIA in total digs (266) and 36th in digs per set (5.12). To date, Cobb has 2,059 digs as just the second Forester in program history to go over the 2,000-plateau.

The Foresters are currently 8-6 overall, 3-1 in Crossroads League play for a share of 2nd place in the standings.
