Fall Break, Thanksgiving, Final Exams

October 4, 2017 Administrative Comments Off on Fall Break, Thanksgiving, Final Exams Posted By: Cathy Trout

Fall Break is scheduled for October 16 and 17, Thanksgiving Break is November 22, 23 and 24, and final exams are the week of December 11. Students should not plan to leave campus early for travel purposes. Our policy states that unless it is a family emergency, students are expected to attend classes the week prior to the break and faculty are required to meet all of their regularly scheduled classes. There are no “excused” absences (illness, funerals, athletic contests, and other necessary absences are included in the total number of absences counted). As a reminder, here is the class attendance policy, and below that, a link to the final exam schedule.

CLASS ATTENDANCE REMINDER: Students are expected to be punctual and regular in class attendance and to accept responsibility for all assigned work. Any student who has been absent for as many as one-third of the total class sessions for a course will have failed and will be suspended from the course. Within this framework, each instructor may set his/her own class attendance policy, and will inform students of this policy at the beginning of the term. Class sessions missed because of illness or late registration will be counted as absences. There are no “excused” absences (illness, funerals, athletic contests, and other necessary absences are included in the total number of absences counted). In case of extenuating circumstances, a suspended student may petition the Academic Concerns Committee to be readmitted to the class. At the discretion of the faculty member, missed work may be “made up.”

FINAL EXAM SCHEDULE: may be found at
https://www.huntington.edu/uploads/page/Final_Exam_Schedule.pdf

Travel plans are not a basis for petitioning for a schedule change. Faculty are under no obligation to honor requests from students to accommodate travel plans.

Please consider supporting me as I pursue God’s call to student teach in Thailand. In an effort to raise funding for this trip, we are asking for prayerful and financial partners. Buying a T-shirt is just one way to support our trip. All proceeds from sales will go to this experience. There are all different sizes and colors available. It is my prayer that God works in me and through me to impact the people I interact with. Thank you in advance for your support. The link to buy T-shirts and find out more information about the trip is below.
