Student Teaching Orientation Registration Meeting:

If you plan to student teach next academic year (fall 2018 or spring 2019), you must attend the student teacher orientation meeting on Wednesday, September 20, in the upstairs banquet room (C) of the dining commons. Two sessions will be offered – session 1 at 11:30 a.m./ session 2 at 12:15 p.m. Please attend the session that works for your schedule and feel free to bring your lunch upstairs. This is only for those students who have been admitted to the Teacher Education Program with junior or senior status.

Technology Device for Education Students:

All incoming freshmen will be required to have an iPad device by the time they begin their Junior Block courses. For all current sophomores and juniors, we also highly recommend you make this a priority purchase. iPads will be used extensively, not only in the ED 377 Integration of Technology in the Classroom course, but in the other junior methods courses as well. Adam Skiles, Director of Information and Technology Services, has provided the following link where students can purchase the iPads that include our educational discount.

We’re having our pizza party again! It will be held on Wednesday, September 20th, in Loew-Brenn 134 from noon until 1:30pm or when the pizza is gone. This time we are having pizza (there will be gluten free options) and ice cream. There will also be special guests present, such as Dr. Sherilyn Emberton, Dr. Ron Coffey, Dr. Tanner Babb, Ms. Kris Chafin, Chief of Police Justin Faw, Mr. Brian Jaworski, Professor Annalee Rawley, Mr. Amos Rawley, Dr. Mike Wanous, Mr. Scott Raymond, Mr. Greg Smitley, and Mr. Danny Solms. Come for the free lunch that you don’t have to pack and for the community.

If you love creating comics and are looking for a way to make extra cash throughout the semester come to The Huntingtonian call-out meeting on TUESDAY, September 12th at 8 pm in Meadows Basement! We pay $20 for each comic that is used! This is a great way to share your artwork with the students at HU and have published pieces in your portfolio.   • Matches are best of three, with rally scoring to 21

Opening night is Sunday, Sept. 24; games run on Sunday nights starting at 7pm

Post season tournament will be held on October 22nd
