Are you a musical theatre fan? Do you love singing, dancing and performing live?

The TROUPE is presenting an exciting musical revue on Homecoming celebrating the music of musical theatre icons, Tim Rice and Alan Menken. The Theatre Department is seeking talented singers and dancers/movers for this show. You must have strong vocal abilities for solo and part-singing as well as an energetic and dynamic performance personality. Strong movement/dance skills are highly desired but those with limited skills in this area may still be cast.

Auditions are this Thursday, August 31 at 6:30-8:30PM in the Acting Lab MCA 160

All audition information is posted to the theatre department callboard, located in the lower level of the MCA. Please drop by the callboard, sign up for an audition slot and read the information.

Come one, come all! Plant lovers across campus will be gathering for the first meeting of the Huntington University Horticulture Club on Tuesday, September 5th at 7pm. Everyone and anyone is invited! Share ideas, engage in plant talk, eat some homemade goodies, and brainstorm with us as we begin another year of beautifying campus and sharing our love of plants!

We will be meeting in the Library Board room, which is to the left as you enter the main doors. Bring friends, bring roommates, even bring your professors! We hope to see you there!

Peer mentors and student volunteers are an integral part of the Huntington University ABLE (Achieving Balance in Life through Education) program. The ABLE program is committed to providing a college experience for identified students (ages 18-24) with cognitive disabilities. Applications are now being accepted through September 8th and students can pick up an application in the Education Office or at Loew-Brenn 287. Four Cups (local coffee shop in upper level of 509 Community Church, Huntington) is in need of baristas for weekday evenings! This is a volunteer position and the perfect opportunity to meet and serve this community by slinging latte art and pour overs! You would still have the time to read, study, and hangout during your shift. It’s a great time. There will be training so no need to worry if you don’t have any barista experience. Christianity Today states “The Christians is a serious play, with serious craft and serious aspirations. It’s a harrowing dig through our hearts, a play about our deepest and, often, most noble desires and motivations and yearnings—it just also happens to take place in a place many Americans frequent every week and believe in deeply…it is a mesmerizing drama.”

Also, don’t miss the Forester Lecture corresponding to the themes presented in the play. The guest lecturer is Dr. James Bruce from John Brown University speaking on “The Justice of Hell” The Forester Lecture is on September 28 at 7:00PM in Zurcher Auditorium. The lecture is free. The play requires tickets so reserve/purchase yours soon!
