Final Exam Schedule

December 12, 2016 Academic Comments Off on Final Exam Schedule Posted By: Cathy Trout

The final exam schedule may be found at https://www.huntington.edu/uploads/page/Final_Exam_Grid_Fall_2016_(1).pdf (or on the Registrar’s page of the website). Students who have three or more final exams (at least two of which are comprehensive finals) on the same day may petition to take an exam at a different time. Final exams are to be taken at the scheduled time unless this petition is approved. Travel plans are NOT a basis for petitioning for a schedule change. Make sure that your travel plans are based on when you will have completed your exams. Contact the Academic Dean’s office for a petition form.

STUDENTS WHO EXPECT TO GRADUATE IN MAY: Remember that you MUST attend the Commencement ceremony in order to graduate from Huntington. (See catalog, p.49). Do not plan trips, weddings, or other festivities which would keep you from sharing the graduation ceremony with your classmates. Commencement will be on Saturday, May 13.

Volunteer and Internship Opportunities Available at Pathfinders

December 2, 2016 Academic Comments Off on Volunteer and Internship Opportunities Available at Pathfinders Posted By: Lindsey Berggren Patterson

Every year, Pathfinder Services runs a program that prepares and files the tax returns of over 1,000 residents of Huntington and the surrounding counties. The majority of our participants are low-income, and having this service provided for free makes a big difference for them. The VITA/TCE Tax Return Program cannot run without volunteers; no experience is needed and all training will be provided to volunteers for free. If you are a Business or Accounting student looking for experience or an internship, or if you just have a desire to help others in your community and learn the basics about filing taxes, we want you! Contact Beth Stevens at bstevens@pathfinderservices.org to volunteer or for more information.
Volunteers will provide between 2 and 12 hours of service a week during tax season, which begins mid-January and runs through March. Training materials are in, so contact us immediately to express interest!
