CRUSH HUNGER

The kickoff for the UCAN CRUSH HUNGER campaign is October 23-November 6. We desperately need your help! Please consider what you can do to help us increase our total by purchasing non-perishable food or by donating money ($1 = 4# of food). The Olympiad “Can Construction” activity on Saturday, October 28. Support your Olympiad team by collecting food for the activity.

Several events this week to collect non-perishable food items. Women’s Basketball scrimmage against Trine on Thursday, October 26, at 7:00 pm. Admission price is several cans of non-perishable food. Men’s Basketball scrimmage against Manchester University on Saturday, October 28, at 1:00 pm and Olympiad Can Construction event on Saturday, October 28th.

The office of Campus Ministries is pleased to announce that our Suggest a Chapel Speaker link is live and ready to go! This is your opportunity to recommend a pastor, author, or ministry leader, etc. of your choosing.
Here’s how it works: In your campus portal, go to CAMPUS MINISTRIES PAGE, click the Suggest a Chapel Speaker link. Enter the name of the recommended person, any contact information you may have for them, why you’re requesting this person (tell us how you heard of them, if you’ve read their book, follow their podcast, their blog, etc.) and how we can best contact them to inquire about scheduling them to share in an HU Chapel Service.
You will receive a confirmation email to let you know that your request has been submitted for consideration.

Huntington University will be competing again this year with the Fort Wayne universities (St. Francis, Ivy Tech, Indiana Tech, & IPFW) to crush hunger in our communities. The campaign is October 23-November 6. We desperately need your help! We collected about 3,000 lbs of non-perishable food last year for Love, INC in Huntington. But we got 3rd place. Please consider what you can do to help us increase our total by raiding your parent’s pantries to donating money ($1 = 4# of food). Another big event will be the Olympiad “Can Construction” activity on Saturday, October 28. Support your Olympiad team by collecting food for the activity.

BLOOD DRIVE — NOVEMBER 15

HU is hosting a blood drive on Wednesday, November 15, from 11:00 am – 5:00 pm in the Dining Commons, upper level. Students who volunteer to donate blood will be entered into a drawing for one of three $20 gift cards. Walk-ins are welcome. Thank you for your support.
