NAIA NATIONAL AWARDS DAY

As part of its first annual NAIA National Awards Day, the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics announced its 10,000 Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes and over 2,000 NAIA Scholar Teams in 2019-2020.

Of the 17 Huntington University teams eligible to receive NAIA Scholar Team accolades, 15 teams met the 3.0 collective team GPA requirement.

Individually, 61 HU student-athletes, representing 68 total awards, were honored for their success in the classroom last year as an NAIA Scholar Athlete. In order to be nominated, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status.

The NAIA National Awards Day recognizes the association’s highest individual honors and achievements of NAIA student-athletes, administrators and coaches. Additionally, the association announced the seven-member class of the 2020-21 NAIA Hall of Fame.
