CROSS COUNTRY

For the second time this fall, HU sophomore Emma Wilson and senior Adrien Gentie teamed up to sweep the Crossroads League Cross Country Runner of the Week honors.

For Wilson, it was another record-breaking weekend as she broke Taylor University’s course record on the way to claiming the individual title at the Midwest XC Challenge. Her time of 17:11 was not only the fastest time at the meet by more than 25 seconds, but also proved the fasted NAIA women’s 5K time of the weekend.

The Greencastle native, who ran as an individual on Saturday, remains unbeaten on the season and continues to hold the fastest 5K time nationally across all collegiate divisions. This CL designation is her fourth of the year.

Gentie also ran individually for Huntington and finished atop the men’s 8K at Taylor. He clocked in at  25:14 to win by 18 seconds, tie the course record and log the second fastest NAIA men’s 8K time of the week. It’s his second CL Runner of the Week badge of the fall.

The Foresters now turn their attention to the Crossroads League Championships slated for November 6.
