The 7th-seeded HU women’s soccer team’s season came to an end Saturday afternoon with a 2-0 loss to 2nd-seeded Spring Arbor (9-1-1) at the Cougar Soccer Complex in the quarterfinals of the Crossroads League tournament.

While the Foresters weren’t able to find back netting, their defense was impressive. Lewis’ crew held a Cougar squad that entered the contest averaging four goals, to half that. The first time these two squads faced off this season, SAU handed HU a 4-0 loss.

Spring Arbor, ranked 24th nationally, held possession most of the day but HU keepers Riley Voss and Maddy Moan split time in frame to combine for ten saves and allow just one goal per half.

“It’s disappointing to conclude our season, but I appreciated the effort our players put forth against one of the top teams in the country,” said Coach Lewis. “Our team is improving and our young players can build on this foundation.”

The Foresters wrap up the year with a 2-9-1 record. Senior Jordan Adam led HU in scoring with four goals and an assist for nine points.
