Prayer of Expectant Hope

Heavenly Father,

During this season of Advent, as we prepare for Your return and reorient our hearts and minds towards You, please let us walk into the new year with a spirit of expectant hope. After a year marked by fear, trials, sickness, death, and division, we can know that Your Will will be done. Even amidst all of the pain, You were, and still are, at work. You have promised your believers a beautiful inheritance of life, and it’s with that expectant hope that we can meet today’s trials head on. Lord, keep us as the apple of your eye, and hide us in the shadow of your wings, as we await your glorious return.
