INDOOR TRACK & FIELD

The Forester Indoor Track & Field program will be well represented at the 2021 NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships set for March 3-6 at Dakota State University’s Sanford Jackrabbit Athlete Complex in Brookings, S.D.

On the women’s side, Emma Wilson headlines Coach Childs’ crew. The sophomore transfer will compete in the mile and 3000 meters as the top seed. She will also likely run a leg of the distance medley relay (DMR) and the 4×800 meter relay.

Jessica Chojnacki will represent Huntington in the mile as the ninth seed while Saige Norris will toe the line in the 3000 meters as the seventh seed. Both will be considerations for both relays.

The Foresters hold the fastest DMR time of the season to claim the No. 1 seed while the 4×800 is seeded second. In addition to the three athletes mentioned above, Sydney Lambert, Mia Ostopovich, Carmen Trier and Olivia Von Gunten are also registered to compete in at least one of the relays.

The HU women, last year’s defending national champions, are ranked 15h in the most recent USTFCCA Indoor Track & Field Rating Index.

The Huntington men enter nationals ranked #23 according to the latest rating index.

Three Foresters are signed up to run the 3000 meters. Adrien Gentie will compete as the fourth seed, Haile Stutzman is ranked fifth and Reece Gibson will line up as the eighth seed.

Aaron Hendryx and Elijah Chesterman are entered in the mile as the 11th and 14th seed respectively. These five along with Heath Atkins and Josiah Sovine are also registered to compete in the DMR as the fifth seed.
