CROSS COUNTRY

The Forester cross country program swept the Crossroads League weekly Runner of the Week accolades as announced by the league officer earlier today.

For the second time this season, junior Haile Stutzman was tabbed the CL Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week. Not only did the Oregon native top the field of 239 runners at Saturday’s NAIA Great Lakes Challenge hosted by Aquinas, he also broke the Riverside Park course record by clocking in at 24:16, seven seconds ahead of his nearest competitor.

Freshman Shelby Christman earned the league designation with her outstanding performance over the weekend in Grand Rapids which proved her third weekly Crossroads badge this fall. The rookie from Fort Wayne finished third in 17:38 out of 226 harriers, 12 seconds ahead of her nearest league foe.

HU has a two-week break before hosting the Crossroads League Championships slated for November 6.
