BASEBALL

The Forester baseball team wrapped up their time in Arizona with a 15-3 loss to Arizona Christian Saturday morning at Canyon View High School.

The Firestorm seems to have HU’s number as they downed their visitors by double-digits yesterday afternoon as well. This time around, ACU jumped out to a 5-0 lead before Huntington closed to within two in the fourth.

With bases loaded, Daniel Lichty drew a base on balls for his team’s first run. Ian McCutcheon then singled into center field to plate two more runs for a 5-3 difference. Unfortunately, the guests managed just one more hit over the final three frames while Arizona Christian unloaded for ten more runs to pull away for the win.

McCutcheon finished with two of HU’s eight hits. He also recorded two RBI while Matt Wolff also collected a pair of base pokes.

Freshman Graham Kollen took the loss for Huntington. He tossed the first three frames where he gave up six hits, nine runs and three walks while striking out two.

The Foresters (1-3) take a break until a weekend series with Ottawa University on February 11-12.
