INDOOR TRACK & FIELD

For the second time this season, the HU indoor track and field program swept the Crossroads League Track Athlete of the Week honors as announced by the league office earlier this afternoon.

Freshman Shelby Christman earned 22.5 points for HU at the Crossroads League Champions to be deemed the Most Outstanding Female Track Athlete of the Meet. In addition to garnering four All-Conference praises, she also posted NAIA-A times in the four events she competed in.

After leading her team to a win in the DMR and second-place finish in the 4×800, Christman finished second in the mile and wrapped up the weekend by winning the 3000 meters in 9:59.53 which proved a new meet record.

On the men’s side, senior Dylan Felger was named the Most Outstanding Athlete of the Meet for racking up 30 points for Huntington. He claimed three individual titles with wins in the 200, 400 and 600 meters. Not only were they all A-standard times, he also set a new meet record in each race.

Felger currently ranks No. 1 nationally in the 400 and 600 meters while his 200-meter time is the 12th fastest in the NAIA.

The Foresters now turn their attention to NAIA Nationals slated for March 3-5.
