OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD

The Forester track and field program spent time at two different meets over the weekend. The majority of HU competitors headed south to the Pacesetter Sports Invitational hosted by Indiana State.

Dylan Felger turned in the most notable performance by hitting the A standard to qualify for NAIA Nationals in the 400 meter hurdles with his second-place time of 51.35.

With his time of 1:54.73, Elijah Chesterman not only set a new personal best, but brought home a first place finish in the 800 meters. Zachary Collins sprinted his way to fifth place in the 100 meters in 10.83. His time is the fifth fastest in the Huntington record books.

Abigail Mays claimed third in the 800 meters by clocking in at 2:18.04, the seventh fastest time in Forester history. She was also part of the 4×400 meter relay team, along with Emily Tedder, Shaylynn Reyes and Madeline Gile that took fourth in 4:18.05.

Competing in the Manchester Invitational, Aanyah Wright’s PR mark of 40.77 meters earned her second place in the hammer and the fifth spot in the HU record books.

The Foresters host the HU Invitational on Thursday at King Stadium.
