OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD

The Huntington track and field program took a partial squad to the Lancer Invitational on Friday. Headlining the one-day meet was Aanyah Wright who broke the school record in the hammer with her second-place mark of 46.28 meters.

Siera Weathers (1:07.68) and Hannah Richer (1:10.98) took fourth and fifth in the 400 meters.

On the men’s side, Nick Wilford turned in a 51.51 in the 400 meters to claim third. He earned a second third-place finish by teaming up with Avniel Barrow, Blake Miller and Josh Whitney in the 4×400 meter relay where they clocked in at 44.93.

Third place was a popular finish for the Foresters as Kyler Bourne also took third in pole vault with his leap of 4.10 meters.

Adding to the list of impressive performances over the weekend was Kent Yoder. The junior long-distancer ran a 31:11.91 in the 10,000 meters at the Davenport Invitational to finish first and punch his ticket to the NAIA National Championships next month.

The Foresters now turn their attention to the Crossroads League Championships slated for May 5-6 at the University of Notre Dame.
