MEN’S TENNIS

The 2nd-seeded Forester men’s tennis team is headed to the finals of the Crossroads League tournament compliments of a 4-2 semifinals win over 3rd-seeded Marian Thursday afternoon at Klopfenstein Courts.

After winning the doubles point, HU went to work in singles action with Illia Turaba, at the #5 spot, the first for Poncio’s crew to nab a second point. Mateo Ameller was the next Forester to claim a win at #2 singles necessitating just one more win. That win came at court 4 where Valentin Mussi outlasted Dmitrii Voshchenkov sending he and his teammates into celebration mode.

Huntington will head to Don Cramer Tennis Courts for the championship match on Saturday against top-seeded Grace who is undefeated on the season at 12-0. The Foresters are 10-1 on the season with their only loss to the Lancers.
