NAIA Scholar Athletes

The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced its Scholar Teams for the 2021-2022 academic year.

As is the case each year, Forester teams were well represented on this distinguished list. Of the 17 Huntington University squads eligible to be nominated, 15 teams received this honor, with women’s cross country boasting the highest team GPA of 3.57.

“Huntington University’s commitment to scholarship can be seen in the quality of its faculty, the rigorous coursework required of its students and the success of its graduates,” said HU Athletic Director Lori Culler. “As athletic director I’m very pleased to say that this commitment is also visible in the athletic arena.

“I commend our coaching staff and our student-athletes for the tangible way they have displayed the value they place on scholarship.”

For a team to be considered for the NAIA Scholar-Team award, it must have a minimum 3.0 grade-point average (on a 4.0 scale) as defined by the institution. The team grade-point average includes all eligible varsity student-athletes.
