The 21st-ranked Grace College Lancers scored three times each period to hand the Huntington women’s soccer team a 6-0 loss Saturday afternoon at King Stadium as part of HU’s Homecoming festivities.
The Lancers have notched six shutouts this season as they improve to 7-3-1 which includes a 2-2 Crossroads League record. The guests finished with 25 shots while limiting to HU to three. It kept Ireland Aerni busy tracking down nine saves.
“We played a very good and experienced team today,” said Coach David Lewis. “Grace played better than we did. I’m proud that our team did not give up and kept playing to the end.
“If we can improve on the consistency of our basic skill set, it will advance our level of play. That’s our objective.”
The Foresters (2-10-1, 0-4-0) face another tough opponent in #10 Indiana Wesleyan Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m.
