MEN’S GOLF

The HU men’s golf team headed to the Badger State earlier this week to compete in Taylor’s Whistling Straights Championship where they finished 12th out of 15 teams.

Things didn’t go as planned compliments of Wisconsin’s unpredictable weather, which forced the tourney to be cut short. The Foresters shot a 359 in the first round on Monday before the tourney was called off on Tuesday due to snow and high winds.

Quin Edwards posted an 86 for 26th place out of 80 golfers to lead the HU crew. Kaleb Ketchum was one stroke back with an 87 to finish 29th. Carter Roseboom carded a 92 to claim 53rd while Peyton Richmond (94) and Colby Martin (96) finished 60th and 68th respectively.

Cumberlands took home the team title with a 323 followed by Taylor (325), UT Southern (339), Texas Wesleyan (343), Lawrence Tech (344), Dubuque (345), Spring Arbor (350), Roosevelt (351), UNOH (353), Saint Francis (354), Marian (355), HU (359), Sterling (360), Viterbo (362) and Dakota Wesleyan (379).

Huntington wraps up the fall portion of their season by hosting the Forester Invitational at Orchard Ridge Country Club in Fort Wayne on October 24-25.
