The #RV Titans of IU South Bend (4-0) had a strong fourth quarter to outlast the Huntington women’s basketball team 71-63 Wednesday evening at the IUSB Student Activities Center.

The Foresters led after each of the first three quarters in a contest that featured 15 lead changes and six ties. HU’s largest lead of 20-13 came at the end of first ten minutes. Down by seven heading into the second, the hosts settled in to trim it to a single point at 33-32 by the midway point.

HU still enjoyed a one-point advantage at 50-49 after the third before IUSB took over the lead permanently at 57-56 halfway through the fourth on a Maddie Gard jumper. The hosts extended it to four 60 seconds later and then camped out at the free throw the rest of the night. The Titans scored their last eight points from the line with Sara Doi going 5-for-6 in the final :30 seconds  to secure the win.

Doi finished with ten points. Maddie Gard topped all scorers with 21 points while her twin sister, Katie Gard, added 13.
