Emily Kars Places Second in NATS Competition

Congratulations to Huntington University junior Emily Kars, who competed on Saturday, November 5, in the Indiana NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing) vocal competition at Butler University. Emily placed second in both the Junior Women Classical and Musical Theatre divisions, where she performed ten minutes of music in each category.

Vocal students from Indiana colleges and universities compete annually in the fall, and then they have the opportunity to compete in the spring at the Regional level against singers from Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, and Ontario, Canada. Emily is a choral music education major with a minor in theatre performance and is a vocal student of Professor Melanie Carter.
