“Saudade” Junior Film Auditions
Our crew is having auditions for “Saudade” on Sunday, January 29, for our junior film!
“Saudade” follows Tyce on a date with his new girlfriend. While a run-in with a mysterious man triggers him to relive dates with his past girlfriend, he is forced to live within his mind and memories. He must physically choose whether or not to run from the reality of his forgotten love or to seek a way to embrace its memory. Actors must be available February 10-12 for shooting dates.
The lead roles that are open for auditions are:
Tyce: A young man in college. Currently, he is confident but distant. He used to be more carefree and witty, but he lost his mother in high school and recently watched his long-term relationship fail. He’s naturally optimistic and lighthearted, but these events have been haunting him and causing him to become detached from others. He is in his head a lot and fights to ignore his demons. Though he doesn’t fully know how to confront his past, at his core, he always wants to find growth from hardship. He subconsciously wonders if love and optimism are worth it in the end.
Hope: Carries herself with wit and sass. She’s a college student with a true heart of gold, often overshadowed by her sarcastic nature. As a child, she was shy and afraid to embarrass herself. As she grew, she found through conversing that one often discovers more in common with others rather than less. She sometimes talks, teases, or pushes too much, but she is self-aware and has been trying to add more gentleness to her speech. She’s often too trusting. For better or worse, she finds the good in others even if sometimes she shouldn’t.
Amaya: A kind, sincere college student who believes she understands her path in life. She’s humorous yet subtle and takes a soft approach to situations rather than a direct one. Her gentleness is beautiful to those around her, as people often find comfort in her presence. Her confidence and gentle nature cause her to harbor a secret fear of conflict and hard times. She has a good heart, but if she is honest, she doesn’t know what she wants in life and has more maturing to do than she would like to admit.
