With freshman Addy Wiley’s collegiate indoor track debut in the books, the rookie from Huntington has been tabbed the best in the business by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Association (USTFCCCA) by being named the National Women’s Track Athlete of the Year for the 2023 NAIA Indoor Track & Field season as voted on by member coaches.

Wiley has been busy all season doing the unimaginable, highlighted by her eye-popping performance at the NAIA Indoor Championships last week where she won four individual titles and anchored a winning relay team within a four-hour block of time.

Wiley stood atop the podium in the mile, 600 meters, 800 meters and 3000 meters and then wrapped things up by running the 1600-meter leg of Huntington’s DMR team that captured gold. When all was said and done, she piled up 42.5 points for her team at the Sanford Jackrabbit Athletic Complex to guide HU to a runner-up finish.

During the regular season, Wiley set best-known NAIA records or all-time bests in four different events.

Wiley and crew now turn their attention to the outdoor season that is slated to kick-off on March 25 at the Polar Bear Invitational.
