Final Forester Lecture

Our very own Dr. Karen Jones, chair of the Institute of Christian Thought and Practice at HU, will present the prestigious, Dean-selected, Faculty Forester Lecture.

Title: Inspecting the Scaffolding for Adult Faith: A Student Perspective

Time & Place: 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 4, in Zurcher Auditorium

Dr. Jones holds a PhD in youth ministry and a Master of Arts degree in religious education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education and a Master of Science degree in remedial reading from Southwest Missouri State University.

Perhaps of greatest interest, and most motivating, Dr. Jones has served as a youth minister in both Missouri and Texas and has led numerous national and international missions trips with hundreds of teens.

In addition to her involvement in several national research projects, Dr. Jones is also committed to educating and enabling youth workers across the globe. This past year, she taught in Ethiopia and Turkey. A few weeks ago she led an online training seminar for youth leaders in Peru, and in May she will travel to Monrovia, Liberia, where she will teach a two-week class at the Evangelical Seminary of West Africa.

Please plan to join us for the last Forester Lecture of spring 2023, a student-centered lecture.

Spiritual life credit is offered for this event.
