WOMEN’S GOLF

The HU women’s golf team finished the year with a seventh place finish at the Crossroads League Championships. The two-day, three-round tourney saw HU post a 990 (323-331-336) at Chariot Run Golf Club.

Fourteen strokes separated Davis’ crew with his No. 5 player in Kira Moore leading the pack with a 244 (83-79-82) for 25th place out of 44 golfers. One stroke back was Danielle Tinsley with a 245 (76-81-88) for 26th place.

Grace Dill carded a 251 (81-87-83) to finish 32nd. Lauren Slottke shot better with each round for a 252 (85-84-83) good for 33rd place. Rounding out Huntington’s scores was Abby Sheehan with a 260 (83-88-89) for the 36th spot.

“I’m happy with our season,” said Coach Patrick Davis. “We improved a lot from last year, have a tournament win and were competitive in several of other events. We have room to grow next year.”

Marian was crowned the league champions by firing a 898 followed by Taylor (914), Indiana Wesleyan (931), Bethel (937), Grace (947), Spring Arbor (982), HU (990), Saint Francis (1046) and Mount Vernon (1049).
