Logic Course

I am writing this message to encourage students to take Logic (PL240) this semester. This Logic course is offered every fall ODD years. If you want to sharpen your skills of reasoning, or if you value precision, being concise, clear, and careful about what you think and write, this Logic course is designed to help you sharpen these skills. Also, you will learn how to construct good arguments and how to avoid constructing bad arguments. You will also learn how to evaluate arguments. By sharpening your reasoning skills, you will avoid being duped by fallacious reasoning that is everywhere. Understanding the logical properties of words like or, and, not, if…then, if and only if, only if, all, and some, among others, can bring so much clarity to your thinking and writing. Therefore, considering taking Logic (PL240)!
