WOMEN’S TENNIS

The HU women’s tennis team’s season opener was a nailbiter that eventually favored Goshen 4-3 Saturday morning at Goshen Jr. High School.

The Foresters got off to a hot start by blanking their hosts in doubles action but then got tripped up in singles play. HU needed to win the final two matches of the day to come out on top. Both matches were three-setters with each team claiming a win ultimately tilting the scales in favor of the Maple Leafs for the overall victory.

Ferguson and crew hit the road again on Tuesday to face Adrian at 4:00 p.m.
