The Forester baseball team wrapped up their weekend with an 8-2 win over Georgetown Saturday afternoon at Robert. N. Wilson Field. Originally scheduled as a doubleheader, HU was leading 8-2 in game two before it was called in the fourth because of snow.

Freshman RJ Anglin tossed a dandy to pick up the win. In six innings of work, the LaPorte native struck out six while giving up seven hits, two runs and a walk.

Anglin’s teammates took care of business at the plate by finding home in five of the seven frames. Huntington pounded out 15 hits to the Tigers’ seven. The visitors jumped out to a 6-0 lead before the hosts finally got on the board midway through the game.

Sebastian Kuhns delivered a two-run single in HU’s first at bat to kick off the scoring. Gregory Nolasco Berroa had a big day by sailing one over the left field fence in the second and then driving in another run in the fourth with a shot down the left field line.

Three batters later, Ryne Wheeler crushed one into right for a two-run double. The Tigers finally got one back in the bottom of the fourth. The Foresters added a pair of insurance runs after that, RBI-singles by Beyonce Paco Paulina and Bryce Deckman, with Georgetown wrapping things up with a dinger in the seventh to make for the 8-2 final.

Berroa finished with three hits and two RBI. Wheeler and Kuhns added a pair of base pokes and drove in two runs apiece. Paulina and Matt Wolff also logged multiple hits for the guests with two each.

The Foresters’ home opener is slated for next Friday against IU Southeast.
