Local Church Internships – exploring your potential calling in ministry

Do you feel like God might be calling you to serve the local church, but you’re not sure what that might look like? Whether you’re in a more traditional ministry major or not, churches want your skillset and want to help you develop even more. Would you like to get experience serving with your skills in a church?

These can be in any area of church service. For example:

  • Youth ministry
  • Digital media, sound/lights/film, and creative work
  • Social media management
  • Special needs ministry
  • Preaching and teaching
  • Worship
  • Administration
  • Accounting
  • Business
  • Building and grounds management
  • Missions
  • (and so many more)

Dr. Fetters and I have partnered with a number of local churches to offer internships — for credit! They would love to walk alongside you, giving you a chance to get your feet wet and explore what it looks like to serve with the gifts God has given you.

If you’re intrigued or even curious about this, email me at jmonson@huntington.edu, and we can talk about what this might look like for you. I look forward to hearing from you!
