VOLLEYBALL

The 8th-ranked and reigning national champion Indiana Wesleyan Wildcats (13-2, 6-0) made quick work of the Huntington women’s volleyball team in three on Saturday afternoon in Luckey Arena (25-14, 25-15, 25-15). All but three of IWU’s wins this season have been sweeps.

Leah Carter led the Foresters (10-7. 2-4) with seven kills, while Kortney Grimm added six. HU did not record a block, while IWU recorded 11.5 blocks on the day.

“IWU is a fantastic team. I’m grateful they are in our conference because it shows us where we stack up both within the Crossroads League and nationally,” said coach Kelsey Herber. “We have an opportunity to finish strong the first round of conference, and that is what we are setting out to do moving forward.”

The Foresters return home to host the Goshen Maple Leafs on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. in Platt Arena.
