WOMEN’S SOCCER
The HU women’s soccer team came away with a result on opening day of conference action, playing Goshen to a 0-0 tie Wednesday under the lights at Ingold Complex.
While neither team found back netting, Sophie Shepherd finished the night with a game-best seven shots. The Maple Leafs racked up 17 shots to HU’s 11. Both keepers stood tall in net with Huntington’s Ireland Aerni collecting three saves in her shutout effort.
As a team, the Foresters boast six clean sheets so far this season. Through nine games, Huntington’s backline has surrendered just four goals on the season.
With tonight’s stalemate, HU moves to 5-1-3 on the year, 0-0-1 in CL action. Next up for Lewis and crew is a meetup with #RV Bethel at King Stadium on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
