WOMEN’S SOCCER

The Huntington women’s soccer team didn’t have an answer for the No. 15 Wildcats of Indiana Wesleyan Saturday afternoon on the way to suffering a 5-0 road loss.

The Foresters played their hosts tough in the first half, giving up just one goal to an IWU squad that has recorded seven straight wins. Unfortunately, the Wildcats caught fire in the second half, finding back netting four more times to claim their 11th shutout of the season. IWU hasn’t given up a goal in more than a month.

Shots favored Wesleyan 28-4 as did corner kicks 11-1. Ireland Aerni spent most of the afternoon in goal during which she collected nine saves after which Macie Sanders came on in relief to notch two saves of her own.

With one regular season game remaining, HU is carrying an overall record of 5-6-5 which includes a 0-5-3 CL record. The Foresters host #10 Marian on Wednesday with kick-off slated for 7:00 p.m.
