MEN’S GOLF

The Huntington University Men’s Golf team wrapped up a strong showing at the Pretty Lake Intercollegiate this week, finishing 6th overall in the ten-team competitive field. Over the course of three rounds at Pretty Lake Golf Club, the Foresters demonstrated consistency, recording scores of 314 (+26), 313 (+25) and 309 (+21) to post a team total of 936 strokes (+72 over par).

Leading the Foresters was Steven Webb, whose steady play across all three rounds earned him the team’s low-man honors. Webb carded rounds of 78 (+6), 76 (+4) and 75 (+3) for a tournament total of 229 (+13). His final round of 75 was the lowest individual score for Huntington over the weekend.

Joining Webb in the scoring lineup were: Cooper Trigg – 77, 79, 78 (234 total, +18); Joshua Kling – 78, 79, 77 (234 total, +18); Carter Hall – 81, 79, 79 (239 total, +23); Mason Reeves – 88, 82, 85 (255 total, +39).

Only the top four individual scores counted toward each round’s team total, and Huntington showed steady improvement each day, culminating in their lowest team round (309) on Day 3.

LOOKING FORWARD
The Foresters will compete in the Battle at Blackthorn on September 22–23 at Blackthorn Golf Club in South Bend.
