MEN’S INDOOR TRACK AND FIELD

Fort Wayne, Ind. / Louisville, Ky. – The Huntington University men’s indoor track & field team split competition sites over the weekend, sending athletes to both the Indiana Tech Invitational and the Bellarmine Open as the Foresters continued to build early-season depth and momentum across multiple event groups.

Bellarmine Open 

Competing Friday night at the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center, Huntington faced a strong field that included NCAA Division I competition. 

Sophomore Jan Busam highlighted the meet for the Foresters, winning the 400 meters (48.04) and adding a runner-up finish in the 200 meters (21.40). Freshman Noah Wellington also delivered a strong double, placing third in the 400 meters (48.21) and fourth in the 200 meters (22.20). 

Graduate student Celestin Trambloy added depth in the sprints with a ninth-place finish in the 400 meters (49.49) and a 10th-place showing in the 200 meters (22.55). Junior Parker Richards competed in the 60 meters, finishing 14th (7.10), while sophomore Hawkins Marihugh placed 17th in the 400 meters (51.47). 

Indiana Tech Invitational 

At the Indiana Tech Invitational, Huntington turned in a balanced performance across sprints, middle distance, distance, and field events. 

Junior Sam Handerson led the Foresters in the 60 meters, clocking 7.00 in preliminaries. Sophomore Isaac Lee (7.24) and junior Nazareth Hill (7.32) added depth. Sophomore Zane Hydock posted a 24.79 in the 200 meters. 

Freshman Isaac Winters produced one of the top sprint performances of the meet for Huntington, finishing 12th in the 400 meters (52.71). 

The middle-distance group was led by freshman Benjamin Roberts, who placed fourth in the 1000 meters (2:35.39), followed closely by sophomore Jayden Williams in fifth (2:35.48). Sophomore Jaden Kropp and freshman Lance Wyrick also turned in solid efforts. 

In the distance events, sophomore Kaden Vogel placed sixth in the 3000 meters (9:05.14), while Kropp followed in eighth (9:10.08). 

The Foresters also found success in the field. Sophomore Kharrington Terry cleared 1.91 meters in the high jump. Freshman Caleb Farr cleared 4.35 meters in the pole vault, and sophomore Tyler Crosson recorded a 6.48-meter mark in the long jump. 

Senior Aaron Thomas anchored the throwing events, finishing fifth in the weight throw (15.85m) and 14th in the shot put (11.75m).
