Scholarships = FREE MONEY

January is a great time to fill out scholarships for the 2026-2027 school year.

Step 1: Prepare

  1. Build a brag sheet
  2. Line up recommendations
  3. Stay organized

Step 2: Apply in your hometown

  1. Community Foundation
  • Search by putting the following in the search engine: “your county” county community foundation. Example: Whitely County Community Foundation.
  1. Businesses and Non-profit Organizations
  2. Employee Tuition Assistance

Step 3: Apply regionally and nationally

  1. Companies within your major
  2. Associations within your major
  3. Consider national scholarships

Step 4: Track and respond

  1. Track submissions and announcement dates
  2. Send Thank You notes
