MEN’S TENNIS

The No. 12 Huntington men’s tennis team delivered a dominant performance Saturday morning, defeating Indiana Wesleyan 6–1 in the Crossroads League action opener on HU’s Klopfenstein Courts.

The Foresters set the tone early by sweeping all three doubles matches to secure the opening point. The tandems of Julian Tantera/Javier Lopez Real, Juan Carrasco/Mateo Batista, and Marco Silveira/Paul Reupke each earned convincing victories to give Huntington a 1–0 advantage heading into singles play.

Huntington carried that momentum into singles, winning five of the six courts to seal the team victory. The Foresters showcased depth across the lineup, with four straight-set wins and a pair of strong performances in extended matches.

Martin Capdevilla highlighted the day with a three-set comeback victory at No. 2 singles, while Batista also battled through a three-set match to earn a win at No. 4. Santiago Sarudiansky, Javier Lopez Real, and Carrasco each recorded straight-set victories to round out Huntington’s scoring.

Indiana Wesleyan’s lone point came at No. 1 singles.

With the win, Huntington improves to 10–3 overall, 1-0 in Crossroads League play. HU returns to action on Tuesday when they face Saint Francis at Wildwood Racquet Club. First serve is set for 1:00 p.m.
