After an explosive weekend at the plate, Keifer Wilson of the Huntington baseball team has been named the Crossroads League Player of the Week, marking the second time this season he has earned the honor.
Wilson was instrumental in powering the Foresters to a dominant four-game road sweep over Bethel, as HU’s offense erupted for 71 total runs across the series. The red-hot hitter sparked the lineup by batting an impressive .600, collecting nine hits in four games.
His production was nothing short of electric, highlighted by four home runs, three doubles, and 11 runs batted in. Wilson also posted a staggering 1.600 slugging percentage, consistently delivering extra-base power that kept HU’s offense rolling all weekend long.
With the sweep, the #16-ranked Foresters improved to 22-6 on the season and extended their current win streak to five games. Huntington also moved to 12-4 in Crossroads League play, good for second place in the conference standings.
Wilson and the Foresters will look to keep their momentum going this weekend as they return home for a four-game series against Saint Francis.
