MEN’S TENNIS

The No. 10 Huntington men’s tennis team delivered a dominant performance Wednesday afternoon, sweeping Saint Francis 7–0 in Crossroads League action at Wildwood Racquet Club.

The Foresters set the tone early by sweeping all three doubles matches to secure the opening point. At No. 1, Julian Tantera and Javier Lopez Real earned a 6–2 victory over Juan Andres Wilches and Jorge Cebria, while Marco Silveira and Paul Reupke followed with a 6–3 win against Grant Mishler and Devon McCaffrey at No. 2.

Martin Capdevilla and Santiago Sarudiansky completed the doubles sweep at No. 3, clinching the point and giving Huntington a 1–0 lead.

Huntington carried that momentum into singles play with a flawless effort across the lineup, winning all six matches in straight sets. Tantera led off at No. 1 with a 6–2, 6–2 win over Wilches, while Sarudiansky followed with a 6–2, 6–1 victory against Cebria at No. 2. Capdevilla continued the dominance at No. 3, defeating Hugo Gonzalez Cabanas 6–2, 6–2.

At No. 4, Javier Lopez Real secured a 6–2, 6–2 win over Gerard Cuixart, while Juan Carrasco delivered a strong 6–3, 6–0 performance against Alvaro Adrio at No. 5. Reupke capped off the sweep at No. 6 with a 6–0, 6–2 victory over McCaffrey.

Huntington now turns its attention to a marquee road matchup against No. 16 Marian. First serve is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
