MEN’S TENNIS
Graduate student Martin Capdevilla of the Forester men’s tennis team has been named the Crossroads League Men’s Tennis Player of the Week, as announced by the league office earlier this afternoon.
Capdevilla turned in a flawless week for Huntington, going a perfect 4-0 across singles and doubles play. Competing at No. 2, he picked up two wins in singles and paired for two more victories at No. 2 doubles, helping power the Foresters to team wins over No. 23 Goshen Maple Leafs and Spring Arbor Cougars.
His performance played a key role in keeping Huntington’s momentum rolling as the Foresters continue to climb both regionally and nationally – most recently earning a No. 4 ranking in the ITA polls.
Ranked 10th in the latest NAIA Coaches’ Poll, Huntington currently owns a 16-3 overall record, including a perfect 7-0 mark in Crossroads League play. HU sits alone atop the league standings as the only unbeaten team in conference action and carries an eight-match win streak into its next contest.
Capdevilla and the Foresters return to the court tomorrow when they host the Taylor Trojans at Klopfenstein Courts with first serve set for 4:00 p.m.
