WOMEN’S GOLF

Sophomore Magnolia Miller earned All-Tournament Team honors with a runner-up individual finish, leading the HU women’s golf team to a fifth-place team showing at the two-day Stonehenge Invitational hosted by Grace College at Stonehenge Golf Course.

The Foresters posted a 36-hole total of 627 (+59), following up an opening-round 309 on Monday with a second-round 318 on Tuesday to finish fifth in a competitive 15-team field, just 10 strokes behind third-place Taylor University on the par-71 layout.

Miller paced the Forester lineup across both rounds, opening with a one-over-par 72 before firing a 75 on Tuesday to finish with a two-day score of 72-75—147 (+5). Her second-place finish in the 79-golfer field locked up a spot on the All-Tournament Team.

Senior Riley Kitson delivered a steady two days for Huntington, tying for 17th after carding a 77-79—156 (+14)—marking the first time in her collegiate career she has shot back-to-back rounds in the 70s. Sophomore Aniyah Copeland tied for 30th overall at 81-82—163 (+21), while senior Madelyn Weaver followed closely in a tie for 32nd with a 79-85—164 (+22). Freshman Adrianna Combs (Cincinnati, Ohio) rounded out the team scoring five in 38th place at 84-82—166 (+24).

Two Foresters also competed as individuals. Freshman Ellie Gatton turned in a stellar opening round, firing a collegiate personal-record 78 on Monday en route to a tie for 25th with a 78-82—160 (+18). Freshman Lilly Henderson tied for 49th, shaving six strokes off her opening mark with a 90-84—174 (+32).
