CROSS COUNTRY

Huntington senior Abbey Gentz has been named the Crossroads League Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week, as announced by the league office earlier today.

Gentz earned the weekly conference accolade following a stellar individual performance on Friday at the Ray Bullock Invitational, hosted by Taylor University.

Competing in a 169-runner field that featured five nationally ranked NAIA programs – No. 5 Indiana Wesleyan, No. 8 Grace, No. 14 Marian, No. 15 Taylor, and No. 17 Olivet Nazarene – Gentz outpaced all collegiate competitors. The senior crossed the finish line in 22:12, placing third overall behind only two unattached runners and finishing a decisive 10 seconds ahead of the next NAIA finisher.

This is Gentz’s second weekly CL shoutout this fall.
