Summertime Virtual Reality Research Seeking Student-Athletes
Students from the OTD program in Fort Wayne are completing a research study consisting of the use of virtual reality rehabilitation software to complete concussion baseline testing. The study is seeking student-athletes between the ages of 18-24 involved in any sport which may result in a concussion. Three simple assessments will be completed that take a total of about 15 minutes. The purpose of the study is to establish norms for healthy athletes pre-season to provide new baseline data to refer to in order to most safely recommend a return to sport. The study can be completed at our Fort Wayne location, but we will plan to bring the system to HU’s main campus at least two or three days throughout the month of June. Two $25 gift cards will be raffled off for students who participate in the study.
