Spiritual life credit? Forester Lecture two weeks from tonight.
Tuesday, February 7 at 7:00 p.m. in Zurcher Auditorium, Dr. Adam Hammett of Cedarville University discusses:
What’s wrong with socialism, and what’s right with free markets?
Abstract: Recent surveys indicate a growing desire, especially among younger adults, to see America adopt policies that have historically been spurned as ceding too much control to a small group of central planners. Such policies have been classified by their opponents as “socialistic,” and it is interesting that their proponents are increasingly comfortable using similar terminology. So this begs the question: What’s so wrong with socialism? And why are market economies a better alternative? In this talk, we will be primarily concerned with looking at these questions through the lens of Scripture, and what humanity has learned from past experience in both settings.
Q & A after the lecture.
Spiritual life credit and extra credit from some departments on campus is available. Ask your professors if they intend to join in that form of encouragement and motivation for you to engage in this important conversation.
