HU senior Konnor Gambrell had a monster game last week to be voted this week’s Crossroads League Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.
Gambrell went off for a career-best 27 points in Huntington’s 82-72 win over Goshen on Wednesday at Gunden Gymnasium. The 6-0 center went 10-for-13 from the floor (76.9 percent) and 7-for-9 from the line (77.8 percent) on her banner night.
With her team holding onto a slim two-point advantage of 72-70 with three minutes to go, Gambrell scored nine of the game’s next 11 points to single-handily will the Foresters to the win.
In addition to pouring in 27 points, Gambrell also posted six rebounds, three steals and three assists.
The Goshen win wrapped up Huntington’s regular season with an overall record of 10-18 which includes a 5-13 CL record. The 8th-seeded Foresters travel to top-seeded Indiana Wesleyan tomorrow for quarterfinal action of the Crossroads League Tournament.
