What Can African Ethics Offer to America?
The Centre for Non-Western Studies will host a public lecture on applying African ethics to issues in contemporary American society. An American philosopher, Thaddeus Metz, developed a widely influential account of African ethics in his most recent book, A Relational Moral Theory: African Ethics in and beyond the Continent (Oxford University Press, 2022). Our own Dr. Tedla Woldeyohannes applies African ethics to address three moral issues: Racism, extreme polarization in America, and the most recent phenomenon, the ethics of romantic AI relationships.
Venue: The classroom in RichLyn Library
7:00 p.m. on January 30, 2024
