Summer Position – HU Horticulture

The Horticulture Club is seeking an intern to assist with Huntington University’s campus vegetable gardens during the 2024 growing season. This position will provide the intern with experiences and skills related to managing and operating a “farm to fork” university vegetable garden.

Experiences include planting, growing, managing pests and weeds, watering, and harvesting produce.

Skills include increasing your horticultural knowledge, volunteer management, record keeping and invoicing, and interfacing with a commercial vendor.

Hours worked per week will vary depending on the month, with the busiest seasons being planting (mid May through mid June) and harvest (end of August through mid October). Scheduling of hours is somewhat flexible, and we’re happy to work with other commitments you may have during the summer. The position funds up to 170 hours of work across the entire growing season.

$12.00 per hour
