MEN’S SOCCER

The #RV Cougars of Spring Arbor played spoiler to HU’s homecoming festivities Saturday night by blanking the Forester men’s soccer team 2-0 in an intense Crossroads League battle. The loss snaps a six game win streak Coach Potter and crew were riding.

Huntington (9-3-1, 3-1-0) was able to get off 14 shots, six more than their visitors, but couldn’t find back netting. It’s just the second time this season the Foresters have been held scoreless. The Cougars made the most of their limited shots by scoring just before halftime and then adding an insurance goal with 20 minutes remaining to solidify their fourth straight win over HU.

HU’s records currently stands at 9-3-1 which includes a 3-1-0 record in league play. With this win, Spring Arbor improves to 8-4-1 overall, 2-1-1 in CL action. Dan Pellegrine took the loss in goal for HU, finishing with three saves on the night.

The Foresters have a week’s break before traveling to Upland next Saturday for a 7:00 p.m. kick-off with the Trojans.
