WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL

Behind a balanced offensive effort and a dominant fourth set, the Huntington University volleyball team earned a 3–1 road win over #RV Marian University on Wednesday night in Indianapolis. Set scores were 25–21, 21–25, 25–23, 25–8.

With the victory, the Foresters improve to 22-5 overall and 10-4 in Crossroads League play, while the Knights fall to 15-8, 7-7 in conference action. The win helps HU keep pace with Mount Vernon Nazarene for the second spot in the Crossroads League standings after #12 MVNU swept #5 Indiana Wesleyan earlier in the evening. It also marks Huntington’s first season sweep over Marian since the 2015-16 campaign.

Huntington hit an efficient .258 as a team, highlighted by three hitters in double figures. Maggie Hollon led the way with 12 kills on .300 hitting, while Maisyn Robrock added 11 kills and three blocks, and Leah Carter contributed 10 kills, five blocks, and a .500 attack percentage.

Middle hitter Trevyn Terry continued her steady play with eight kills and six block assists, while Allie Boyer chipped in four kills and five blocks off the bench to boost HU’s net defense.

Setters Lauren Ross and Kennedy Urban kept the offense flowing, dishing out 24 and 20 assists, respectively. Ross also tallied 13 digs and an ace, while Urban notched 12 digs and one service ace of her own.

Defensively, Layla Meyer anchored the back row with a team-high 27 digs and three service aces, helping the Foresters control long rallies and transition opportunities.

Huntington started strong, hitting .341 in the opening set, and saved its best for last—dominating the fourth set with a .481 attack percentage while holding Marian to a negative mark (-.036).

The Foresters will look to carry that momentum into the weekend as they travel to #5 Indiana Wesleyan University on Saturday. First serve is set for 12:00 p.m.
