WOMEN’S SOCCER

The Crossroads League announced its postseason women’s soccer awards this week, with Huntington junior Sophie Shepherd once again earning a spot on the All-Crossroads League First Team.

Standing at just 5-foot-4, Shepherd plays with a tenacity and attacking spark that make her one of the league’s most dangerous forwards. She’s been turning heads since her freshman season, when she was named Honorable Mention All-League, and has now become a repeat First Team All-League honoree—marking her third straight postseason award from the conference.

This fall, Shepherd led the Foresters with nine goals and four assists for 22 total points. Her nine goals ranks seventh in the Crossroads League, while her total points places her eighth among all league players. Known for her speed, determination, and clutch finishing, she was a constant threat to opposing defenses and the driving force behind HU’s attack.

Over her three-year career, Shepherd has amassed 24 goals, including seven game-winners, along with eight assists, solidifying her place among Huntington’s most productive scorers in HU history.

Under her leadership, the Foresters wrapped up the 2025 season with a 7-9 overall record, marking the program’s most wins since 2017 when HU finished 10-8-2.
